Environmental Science
What is Environmental Science?
Environmental science is the study of how the natural world works, how our activities impact the environment, and how we can protect the planet. Environmental science encompasses a wide range of topics, from climate change and sustainable development to environmental health and pollution. It is a interdisciplinary field that draws on knowledge from the natural sciences, social sciences, and engineering.
Environmental science is a relatively new field, emerging in the 1960s and 1970s in response to public concern about the state of the environment. Today, it is an important area of research and teaching at universities around the world. Environmental science is crucial for addressing the many challenges we face, from climate change and habitat loss to water pollution and dwindling resources. It is also important for developing sustainable solutions that will allow us to live on this planet without damaging it.
Environmental science is a interdisciplinary field, and students who study environmental science learn about biology, chemistry, physics, and geology, as well as environmental policy and law.
