Marine Biology
What is Marine Biology?
Marine biology is the study of organisms in the sea. Marine biologists study a wide variety of topics, from the genetics of fish to the behavior of whales. Marine biology is a very interdisciplinary field, and marine biologists often collaborate with biologists, chemists, and physicists.
Most marine biologists work in research. They may study the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems, the effects of pollution on fish populations, or the behavior of deep-sea creatures. Marine biologists also work in aquaculture, helping tofarm fish and other marine organisms. Some marine biologists work in education or policy, teaching others about the ocean and working to protect it.
