About TOEFL Test

The TOEFL Test is a standardized test that measures the English language skills of non-native English speakers. The test has four sections: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Each section is scored on a scale of 0-30, for a total score of 0-120. A score of 100+ is considered a passing score.

The reading section consists of three or four passages, each followed by five questions. test-takers have 20 minutes to read each passage and answer the associated questions. The writing section consists of two tasks: an integrated task and an independent task. In the integrated task, test-takers must read a passage and then listen to a lecture on the same topic. They then must write a summary of the lecture, incorporating information from both the reading and listening passages. In the independent task, test-takers must write an essay on a topic of their choice. They have 30 minutes to plan, write, and edit their essay.

The listening section consists of six passages, each followed by five questions. Test-takers have 20 minutes to listen to each passage and answer the associated questions. The speaking section consists of six tasks: two independent tasks and four integrated tasks. In the independent tasks, test-takers must speak about a personal topic for one minute, and then speak about a familiar topic for one minute. In the integrated tasks, test-takers must first read a passage, then listen to a lecture on the same topic, and then speak about the topic. They have 20 seconds to prepare their response and 60 seconds to speak.
