Virtualization

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual copy of something, such as a server, an operating system, a storage device, or a network. A virtualization program creates a virtual version of a real physical device or computing environment. Virtualization allows you to run multiple virtual machines on a single physical machine, each with its own operating system and applications. This can be useful for testing new software or for running older applications that are not compatible with the current operating system.
