About Blockchain

Blockchain is a system of distributed ledgers or public records that allows for secure, transparent and tamper-proof data management. The data is spread across a network of computers, each of which holds a copy of the ledger. When a new transaction is recorded, it is added to the ledger and broadcast to the network. Each computer then verifies the transaction against its copy of the ledger and updates its own copy accordingly.

The ledger is maintained by a consensus protocol, whereby each computer in the network agrees on the order and authenticity of the transactions. This ensures that the data is tamper-proof, as any attempt to alter a transaction would require the consent of the majority of the network.

The distributed nature of the ledger also makes it highly resilient to attacks. Even if one computer in the network were to be hacked, the attacker would only be able to alter the data on their own copy of the ledger. The rest of the network would still have the correct data, and would quickly identify the discrepancy.

Blockchain technology is already being used in a variety of applications, including finance, supply chain management and smart contracts. The potential uses of the technology are limited only by the imagination, and it is poised to have a major impact on the way we do business in the future.
